TruGreen will spray broadleaf weed killer at parks across Elmhurst on Tuesday, Sept. 22, and Wednesday, Sept. 23.
Multiple crews will treat turf at more than a dozen locations each morning, according to the Elmhurst Park District. The district is asking visitors to stay off treated grass until the product dries. Applications run from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. each day, though exact times vary by location. The schedule is weather-dependent and could shift.
Tuesday, Sept. 22
- Team 1: Crestview Park (before 8:30 a.m.), Berens Park, Salt Creek Park and Plunkett Park
- Team 2: Washington Park (before 8:30 a.m.), East End Park, York Commons Park and Butterfield Park
- Team 3: Eldridge Park (before 8:30 a.m.), Maple Trail Woods and Ben Allison Park
Wednesday, Sept. 23
- Team 1: Administrative Office grounds, Glos Memorial Park and Wild Meadows Trace (Spring Road to the railroad crossing along Prairie Path Lane)
- Team 2: Centennial Park
- Team 3: Pioneer Park (before 8:30 a.m.) and Wild Meadows Trace (Rex Boulevard to Spring Road)
The product being applied is Lesco Momentum 4-Score, a broadleaf herbicide. Yard signs will be posted at park entrances before each treatment day.
