A new childcare center with room for 151 children has opened at 385 N. York Road in Elmhurst.
Kiddie Academy of Elmhurst held its ribbon-cutting celebration on Friday, Oct. 16, according to the Elmhurst Independent. The franchise is the first Kiddie Academy location in Elmhurst and the 12th in the Chicago area.
The 10,500-square-foot facility has 10 classrooms and serves children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old. It includes an outdoor turf playground, an indoor gym and activity room, and full-service kitchens. The location brought about 25 jobs to the area.
Kiddie's Playgroup Management, which owns the Elmhurst location, operates 11 other Kiddie Academy franchises in the greater-Chicago area. John Gurgone, vice president of operations at Kiddie's Playgroup Management, said the company is "thrilled to open our 12th Academy in Chicagoland and our first in the Elmhurst community."
