Willowbrook High School will open its football stadium gates for the 10th Silver & Blue Community Night on Friday, Aug. 14, a free evening that brings together students, alumni, families, and neighbors from Villa Park, Elmhurst, and Oakbrook Terrace to kick off the 2026-27 school year.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Activities begin at 6 p.m. at the stadium, 1250 S. Ardmore Ave. in Villa Park.

Admission is free.

The event will showcase the school's athletic teams and extracurricular clubs. Attendees are encouraged to wear gear representing their favorite Willowbrook sport or activity. Concessions will be available for purchase.

The tradition started in 2017 and has run every year since. Last year's ninth annual gathering took place on Aug. 22, 2025. The event's name comes from the school's colors: columbia blue and silver.

Willowbrook draws about 1,950 students as of the 2023-24 school year from Villa Park, Oakbrook Terrace, and parts of Elmhurst, Oak Brook, and Lombard, making the night a crossroads for families across several communities.

Willowbrook Athletics announced the milestone on X on Monday, Aug. 3, describing the night as a gathering of the school's past, present, and future community to celebrate the start of a new school year. The school's Facebook promotion, posted around July 30, was published in both English and Spanish.
