The "Cruisin' for a Cause" car scavenger hunt is back on the calendar. The Kiwanis Club of Villa Park-Lombard has rescheduled the fundraiser for Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Albright Middle School, 1110 S. Vila Ave., Villa Park.

Check-in opens at 5:30 p.m. The hunt begins at 6 p.m.

The event was originally set for July 22 at Willowbrook High School before being postponed. The club has not stated a reason for the schedule change.

How it works

Teams pile into a car, pick up a set of clues and drive to locations around Villa Park and Lombard, solving puzzles and completing activities along the way. Once they've collected their answers, they return to Albright Middle School for the finish. The entry fee covers participation, refreshments at the end and prize drawings.

Admission is $25 per adult. Children under 18 ride free.

Where the money goes

Proceeds support the Kiwanis Possibility Project, a global campaign running through September 2028 that aims to raise $25 million for the Kiwanis Children's Fund. According to Kiwanis International, the fund directs grants toward health and nutrition programs, education and literacy initiatives, and youth leadership development, with a goal of reaching 10 million children worldwide. It costs approximately $2.25 through the Children's Fund to make a difference in the life of one child, the organization says.

The Villa Park-Lombard club said on its event page that the campaign helps local clubs support initiatives improving children's health, education and leadership skills both locally and internationally.
