Villa Park families have a five-hour window to trick-or-treat on Saturday, Oct. 31, with the village setting official hours from 3 to 8 p.m.

The Village Board approved the hours on Aug. 24 under Resolution No. 26054, according to a village announcement.

The village also published safety guidance for trick-or-treaters, parents, drivers and homeowners. Among the tips: children should carry a flashlight or glow stick, stay on sidewalks and visit only homes with a porch light on. Drivers should slow down in residential neighborhoods and watch for children darting between parked cars.
