A free artisan market fills More Brewing Company's Villa Park brewpub on Sunday, Sept. 27, with local makers selling handcrafted goods, jewelry, art and home decor.
The Summer Send-Off Artisan Market runs from noon to 5 p.m. at 126 S. Villa Ave. Admission is free, and the event is open to families.
The market is organized by the Streetz Artz Alliance, a Chicagoland group that produces handmade markets exclusively at breweries. Three curators run the operation while balancing day jobs, according to the group's website. The alliance's markets feature mostly handmade items but also welcome vintage goods, vinyl, comics and other finds.
Paula Krizek, a community member who submitted the event listing to Patch, described the market as a chance to browse one-of-a-kind gifts and small-batch finds from a lineup of local artisans and creatives.
More Brewing's Villa Park location at 126 S. Villa Ave. is the original of the brewery's three spots. The brewery's website describes the brewpub as its smallest and most neighborhood-oriented, with a small-batch brewing system visible from the dining room. The brewery is open Sundays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and can be reached at (630) 501-1519.
Craft beer and food will be available during the market, according to the event listing. The listing does not name specific vendors.
The Streetz Artz Alliance has a follow-up event at the same location: a Ghoulish Makers Market on Sunday, Oct. 25, from noon to 5 p.m., according to Illinois Brewing magazine.
