York Community High School's Karlin Janowski earned All-State honors with a 4th-place finish in the 3,200 meters at the IHSA Girls' Track & Field state finals on Saturday, May 23, in Charleston.

The District 205 Board of Education recognized Janowski's finish at its Tuesday, June 23 meeting, alongside York's Special Olympics Track & Field team, which won gold medals at the state level.

Janowski, already the IHSA Class 3A individual cross-country state champion from November 2025, was one of three York girls to earn All-State honors at the May 23 meet. Abby Barz placed 6th in the pole vault and Jillian Booth finished 9th in the 200 meters, according to the York Athletics department. The team title went to Homewood-Flossmoor, which tied Edwardsville at 76 points.

The Special Olympics gold rounds out a spring in which York also sent Girls' Water Polo and Girls' Lacrosse to state runner-up finishes. All four achievements were honored at the same board meeting.

D205 Superintendent Dr. Keisha Campbell previously featured Janowski on her "Hall Pass" podcast in January 2026, describing the runner's cross-country title as a "comeback."
