Villa Park residents can vote online through Friday, July 31 to choose a name for the natural park at Villa Avenue and Julia Drive.

The Garden Village Commission, a municipal advisory body, collected name suggestions at public meetings on Thursday, May 21 and Thursday, June 18 before narrowing the options to a ballot. The commission also accepted ideas by email at [email protected].

The winning name will be announced after voting closes, according to a village civic alert published Thursday, June 25. The village expects the official name by early August.

After the naming and a future groundbreaking, the commission plans to develop recommendations for pathways, benches, native plantings, and educational signage at the site. Residents can access the vote at invillapark.com.
