Villa Park has a name for its new natural park at Villa Avenue and Julia Drive, but residents won't hear it until a sign-installation event this fall.

The village announced on X on Thursday, Aug. 27, that voting has closed and a winner has been chosen. No date has been set for the reveal.

The Garden Village Commission ran the months-long naming effort. Residents submitted ideas at commission meetings on May 21 and June 18 or by emailing [email protected]. A community survey followed in June, and voting remained open through July 31.

Once the name is official and a groundbreaking takes place, the commission plans to develop recommendations for enhancements including pathways, benches, native plantings, flower beds and educational signage, according to a village civic alert published in June.
