Classic cars, food trucks and a live DJ return to downtown Villa Park on Friday, Aug. 14, when the Villa Park Chamber of Commerce hosts its fifth Historic Cruise Night of the summer.

The free event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Villa Park Historical Society parking lot, 220 S. Villa Ave., along the Illinois Prairie Path. No registration or tickets are required.

The evening lineup includes a classic car display, trivia, dance contests and food trucks, according to the Village of Villa Park's event listing. The Chamber describes the series as family-friendly and designed to support local businesses while drawing visitors from across the region.

Friday's installment is the second-to-last of six evenings the Chamber has staged this summer. The series launched June 12 and has returned every other Friday since, with stops on June 26, July 10 and July 24 already in the books. One date remains after this week: Friday, Aug. 28, same time and place.

The Historical Society lot, tucked along the Prairie Path in downtown Villa Park, has become a recurring gathering spot for community events. The Villa Park Historical Society also uses the site for its annual Autumn Jubilee, scheduled this year for Saturday, Oct. 10.

The Chamber of Commerce, headquartered at 10 W. Park Blvd., organizes the cruise nights as part of its broader effort to connect Villa Park's business community with residents. The organization recently welcomed a new executive director, though the Chamber has not publicly identified the hire by name.
