Women's clothing retailer JAYNE holds a daylong grand opening celebration Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 124 N. York St. in downtown Elmhurst.

The store's doors open at 10 a.m. with in-store-only discounts, refreshments and a giveaway drawing, according to the store's event listing on Patch. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce is set for 4 p.m. The Elmhurst location is the seventh for JAYNE, a women's fashion chain founded in 2012, as first reported by Patch on Sept. 29.

The public is invited.

Founder Craig Cohen named the boutique after his grandmother Jayne, according to the company's website. JAYNE also operates stores in La Grange, Glen Ellyn, Oak Park, Geneva and Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, plus an outlet store in Lake Geneva.

The shop carries brands including Free People, Kut from the Kloth and UGG, along with jewelry, handbags and gifts, according to Hey Elmhurst. The 124 N. York St. space sits steps from the Elmhurst Metra station.

Company president Katie Cummings said in a September news release that the store aims to build personal relationships with customers and help women find pieces that feel right for them.

JAYNE joins a string of new businesses that have landed on or near York Street in 2026. Candycopia opened at 116 N. York St. in April, Pronto Italian Sandwiches opened at 105 N. York St. in March, and Quad Edge Pizza opened at 570 S. York St. in March, according to Hey Elmhurst.

The grand opening runs all day Wednesday at 124 N. York St., with the ribbon cutting at 4 p.m.
