Fourteen kids from Elmhurst and River Forest haven't lost a postseason game, and now they'll test that streak against the world.

The District 10 Junior League team clinched its fourth consecutive World Series berth on Sunday, Aug. 2, shutting out Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, 10-0 in the Central Region championship in Midland, Michigan. The squad swept every round of district, state and regional play without a defeat.

Not a single loss.

Head coach Rob Flemming, along with assistants Lee Fitzgerald and William Bartolucci, will lead the 14-player roster into the 44th annual Junior League Baseball World Series at Heritage Park in Taylor, Michigan. The team's first game is at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 9, against the USA Southeast representative.

The full roster: AJ Flemming, Ayden San Roman, Carter Spiering, Daniel Goggin, Dylan Ranieri, Jimmy Madden, Jon Ellis, Mario Iveljic, Rocco Popo, Roshan Vitha, Tiago Rangel, Tyler Welch, Will Bartolucci and Xander Escarpita.

Several players showed up in box scores throughout the regional. In pool play against Negaunee, Michigan, the team won 11-0 as Tiago Rangel and Mario Iveljic each scored in the first inning, Tyler Welch added an RBI single in the second and Roshan Vitha and Jimmy Madden delivered run-scoring singles later in the game, according to the Daily Press.

The tournament field features 12 teams split into two brackets: six U.S. squads (Central, East, Southeast, Southwest, West and host Michigan District 5) and six international teams from Asia-Pacific, Australia, Canada, Europe-Africa, Latin America and Mexico, according to the News-Herald. The double-elimination format runs Aug. 9-16, with the championship game set for noon Sunday, Aug. 16.

The defending champion is Chung-Shan Junior LL of Chinese Taipei, which won its own fourth straight title in 2025.

Opening ceremonies, featuring a parade of all 12 teams and fireworks, are free and scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at Heritage Park. Once games begin Aug. 9, admission is $5 per car per day or $15 for a week's pass. Families can bring blankets and lawn chairs for berm seating beyond the grandstands. Heritage Park is at 12111 Pardee Road in Taylor, accessible from I-94, Telegraph Road and I-75.
