The Wheaton-born burger-and-craft-beer brand 302 opened its third location on Aug. 8 at 324 E. Central Blvd. in Villa Park, filling a storefront that sat empty since Tribute Food and Bar closed April 10.
The Villa Park Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting at noon on Aug. 8, with members of the Villa Park Women's Club also on hand for the grand opening, according to the Villa Park Review.
Villa Park Village President Kevin Patrick visited the restaurant ahead of opening day and met with Brett, the location's manager. "One of the best ways we can support a strong local economy is simple: show up and support our local businesses," Patrick wrote on Facebook on Aug. 8.
The brand takes its name from its original address at 302 W. Front St. in downtown Wheaton. A second location, 302 South, operates at 401 Town Square in south Wheaton. The Villa Park spot is the first 302 outpost in DuPage County outside Wheaton.
The restaurant's website lists 24 craft beers on tap alongside house wines, seltzers and cocktails. The food menu runs through burgers, fries, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, grilled cheese and shakes. The restaurant describes itself as family- and dog-friendly, with limited indoor seating and an emphasis on patio space.
The patio is the draw.
Hours listed on the website are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday. Wednesday and Thursday hours were not posted as of Aug. 21. The restaurant plans to close for the entire month of January 2027.
Tribute Food and Bar, the previous tenant at 324 E. Central Blvd., served its final meal on April 10. In an April 10 closing statement on its website, Tribute's operators said 302 would bring its proven concept to the community and called the brand a strong addition to Villa Park.
302 Villa Park also offers catering and operates a food truck.
