Villa Park School District 45 will receive an estimated $4.4 million in new annual revenue after voters approved a tax referendum on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

Preliminary results show 55.64% of voters backed the limiting-rate proposal. The remaining 44.36% voted against it, according to a statement from the district.

In the statement, Superintendent Dr. Brian Graber said the district plans to use the money to begin restoring programs and services reduced for the 2026-27 school year. The funds will also go toward maintaining class sizes, covering ongoing operating costs and supporting safety and security improvements.

The district described the revenue as a step toward addressing what it called an ongoing funding gap and declining fund balance.

The results have not yet been certified. The district labeled them preliminary.

The district did not specify which programs were cut for 2026-27 or detail how the new revenue would be divided among its stated priorities. The Board of Education will review the election results and next steps at its regular meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 17.
