Jayne Boutique cut the ribbon on its downtown Elmhurst storefront Wednesday, Oct. 14, marking the women's fashion chain's seventh location.

The Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted the ceremony at 124 N. York St., the chamber said on Instagram, calling the boutique "another great shopping destination" for the local business community. The chamber posted again the following day, noting it had officially welcomed Jayne into its membership.

The store opened its doors Sept. 5, according to Hey Elmhurst. The grand opening event brought the full celebration more than five weeks later. The day included exclusive in-store discounts, bubbles and bites, a giveaway and the 4 p.m. ribbon-cutting, according to a Patch event listing.

The chain was founded in 2012. It is named after founder Craig Cohen's grandmother Jayne, whom Hey Elmhurst described as "a woman with her own innate sense of style who stayed tough in a man's world and succeeded." Inside the Elmhurst store, shoppers can find brands such as Free People, Kut from the Kloth and UGG, along with jewelry, handbags and gifts.

Company president Katie Cummings said in a news release, quoted by Patch on Sept. 29, that the company looks forward to helping every woman find something personal and building relationships with customers in the community.

The Elmhurst location is the chain's seventh. Patch listed the other stores in La Grange, Glen Ellyn, Oak Park, Geneva and Lake Geneva, while Hey Elmhurst listed Glen Ellyn, La Grange, Oak Park, Forest Park and Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. The company also operates an outlet store in Lake Geneva.

Jayne Boutique is open at 124 N. York St. The chain's website is shopjayne.com.
